Gabrielle Ravet (b. Paris, 1997) is a french photographer based in New York City. She first graduated from a BA in Liberal Arts at King’s College London in 2018 and a MA in Events Management at Goldsmiths University London in 2019, where she wrote two thesis about the correlation between womanhood, identity and fandoms. She is now an alumni from the One Year Certificate Creative Practices program at the International Center of Photography, where she’s been awarded the Directors Fellowship Scholarship. After graduating from ICP, she attended the Eddie Adams workshop in October 2024, and also got published in newspapers such as the New York Times (Arts & Culture section) and the culture magazine Alternative Press (digital & print).
After documenting fangirls around venues in New York City for the last year, she self published a zine named ‘Fangirls Wanna have Fun’ earlier this year. Now, she still explores fandoms in different ways, aiming to do a long term project about different characters within the My Chemical Romance fandom, but also aiming to create alternative realities where fans are central to the stories, rather than the bands, as fans are the number one consumers within our society.
